 Looked on the wet roads site, and the ford at garstang looks like one needs to have a life jacket and a full rope system to belay the fronteras across

Right then lads I'm defo coming i've sorted big red so there'll be no problems (i hope)
for the benefit of the people who have never been before heres the directions
From Bacup

When you turn on to the A671 you follow the road until you arrive in Whitworth. Whitworth is only 5 minutes from Bacup. Once you arrive in Whitworth you will see a Late Shop (co op) on your left and opposite the Late Shop is a road called Tong Lane. Turn right onto Tong Lane and follow it until you come to a crossroads. At the crossroads carry straight on passing the Cock & Magpie pub. You will then start to climb the steep Quarry road and when you reach the top you will see the Quarry entrance on your right.

From Rochdale

From Rochdale pick up signs for the A671 towards Bacup. Once on the A671 follow it until you arrive in Whitworth. Whitworth is only 10 minutes from Rochdale. When you are in Whitworth you will see a Late Shop (co op) on your right and a road called Tong Lane opposite the Late Shop. Turn left onto Tong Lane and follow it until you come to a crossroads. At the crossroads go straight on passing the Cock and Magpie Pub and you will come onto the Quarry road. Follow the road to the top of the steep hill and you will see the Quarry entrance on your right.
I will PM my mobile number to the members who are going just in case something happens on the way, also if you have pmr's bring them with you, set the channel to 4, as thats what mines set on
