Re: Daddy's homeI'm still here sometimes. Really value this forum and have had a lot of help and encouragement from members.
Re: Daddy's homeI still visit the Forum - though not as much as I used too I don't do the Facebook thing . Interesting what stretch said about Facebook is killing off Forums. I hope I don't end up having to do the Facebook thing ....
This site still holds so much good information, and a good place to be. ATB My Fronty thinks its a grown-up Tonka Toy [how sad is that] ?

Re: Daddy's homeYeah all the forums I used to be on have dried up. People these days want answers to tech questions within minutes and don't have an interest in the social side. Facebook has the same questions asked day after day 99% of which are covered on this forum. The trouble with FB is the questions drop into oblivion and with no way to search hence the reason they are asked again and again.
This forum is a vast technical reference and through it I have met some truly great friends.
Re: Daddy's homeThat's an interesting reply there stretch "the questions drop into oblivion ". I had no idea it's like that on Facebook - it would be nice if people where more aware of that.
You are right that people want instant answers these days - I gave a colleague at work an interesting book to read which could have taught him a lot - but he is SSSooo in to his computer etc, he just did not have the patience to read it!! It's his loss My Fronty thinks its a grown-up Tonka Toy [how sad is that] ?

Re: Daddy's homeAye, although I don't visit as much as I used to I do still 'pop in' every few days. The 2.8 part of the site does seem to be somewhat quiet mind, while the more modern 'B Series' appear to be the current trend s far as posting goes.
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ) Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Re: Daddy's home
That's probably cause the 2.8s rarely go wrong. The B series, however, is a whole different kettle of fish
