Re: ****review The special picnic in the wood july 28th 2013What a crackin day for it
The woods looked a picture and the ground conditions softened up nicely with no resultant slippery soap stuff courtisy of the chalk/water mix substrate. Sun shone nicely for the TOR photo shooting so looking forward to seeing our smily faces in the glossy mag. Goods to see everybody again with a few new faces to say hello to as well. Thanks to Greg and Sal for putting the party on and special thanks to Sal for her cooking skills

Re: ****review The special picnic in the wood july 28th 2013A great day indeed, and brill to be able to welcome some newbies to our antics, and Alan from TOR magazine...
It rained the night before, but this just served to kill the dust, and we were on for a day of lovely sunshine with only a momentary cloud minutes after Bobbins and a couple of others foolishly lowered the roof on the rainmaker... Alan snapped away busily all day, shooting 5 cars for the coming issues...namely fudges duck, petes 2.8 shorty, rospicers wrangler, chris Jimny and chris' wrangler. Stevey2stucks rainmaker was shot the day before when Alan and I did a recee of the woods. It was great to get an insight into how these shoots are done, the trench of most certain doom providing a great spot for pics and enabling Alan to crawl underneath the cars for the upskirt shots. A really cracking day, and great to see so many having fun. We were all having a chat at the end I was surprised when Alan told us that our woods project is the only thing like it that he knows of, some clubs renting offroad sites for club days, but he doesnt know of anyone else who has done what we have by renting some land and creating our own space as a group. I knew what we had was unique when you consider the atmostphere at weekenders and picnics, but I had no idea we were that unique. Really well done everyone who has grafted or supported us on this project...its official, we are "special"! Massive thanks as always go to Sally, without whom none of this would have been possible at all, and guys, she does this all for you as she's not really interested in offroading believe it or not. And cheers for the top tucker too Sally...you are a great cook! Some pics I took... The rainmaker, sadly with stevey 2stuck being absent Lynall and conners series 2's...which did really well (the 200tdi's under the hoods helped I think) Newbie to our madness, Benjyboy, in his camo'ed 2.0i sport on 33's... Andytats new truck..2.0i coiler...came down with Lisa too... Bobbinsjob and his boss where there too in their 2.8 shorty, repaired only days before this event... Great to welcome Xplorer's trooper back again, this time laden with the whole family... Chris was there in the jimjiminy again...and flopped it onto its cage getting some hooj air for the shoot Pete was down in his trusty 2.8 shorty for a play and a photoshoot... Fudge and mrs fudge came down in the duck, its woods debut... Rospicer was in attendance in his wrangler, looking great for the shoot also... Didnt catch all the trucks as my phone died sadly.... Heres alan hard at work... The 3wd BGL proved a worthy elevated photography platform... Also huge thanks to Krusher and Mr pete, who albiet frontyless at the mo, still came down to support us and have a good day out... Thanks also to Chris with the blue wrangler, Lloyd, Louis and anyone else I have missed... A brill day, with brill company as always...and I even managed to get the ill BGL suitable acrobatic for some pics, although leaving it like that for a while wasnt the brightest of moves, as all the fuel drained back out of the pipes leaving nothing to make it go again...it did drive out, by cranking it on the starter, with a bit of rocking assistance to overcome the sill/door/ground friction issues that starter struggled with... BIG THANKS EVERYONE...YOU GOT THE RECOGNITION THIS WEEKEND FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK...KEEP AN EYE IN TOR FOR YOUR FEATURE, AND THE FEATURE CARS THAT WERE SHOT THIS WEEKEND!!! Re: ****review The special picnic in the wood july 28th 2013As there been any feedback as to when our mug shots will be in the first issue of T.O.R.?
Alan did say that the column will be spread over a few issues, but I don't believe he said in what issue we would first feature. Last edited by Retro Pedro on Fri Aug 02, 2013 9:50 pm, edited 1 time in total.
