Jeeze, what is this, dump a 2.8 week or what?

I'm going to be in the market for another one around the end of March mate as I want another 2.8 that I can put a winch on, do a 2" lift and then use as a general muck about, laning thing as well as a spare for work. As I don't want to bust the one I've got on the hills cos it's needed for work. As to value, I reckon with these things it's pretty much down to how much the victim, err customer is willing to part with and what your willing to let it go for...

The one I've got now, if I remember correctly I paid around the £700 to £750 mark about 2 years ago off fleabay (with 8 months ticket). It's in pretty good nick (no dents) and, apart from the turbo going which, in all honesty was my own fault (didnt get all the old contaminated oil out having let it go about 6k over the oil change and then doing a clean and flush before flogging it down the M4 one sunny morning) it's been very reliable doing a min 500 miles a week and hasent failed a MOT yet.

I do however think some of the prices currently on flea bay are a bit OTT for what is, after all a 16/17 year old car. Buying now I would be looking to pay anything up to 800, for the right car I might go to 900 but it would have to be good, with more than 6 months ticket and I would be looking at and factoring in things like how far to go for collection etc.
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ;) )

Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... 'O-no' the truck.

Owning a 2.8 is a hobby in it's self...
