3.2v6?Hi
I am thinking about getting rid of my 2004 Peugeot 407 SW 2.2 petrol and my 1996 Frontera 2.8 tdi and just getting a 2003 LWB frontera 3.2 V6. What are the reliability of the 3.2 v6? what kind of motorway speeds are they happy at? my 2.8 tdi gets a bit nosey at 70mph. any input on the 3.2 v6 would be much appreciated
Re: 3.2v6?Will fuel prices going the way the are, you wont be able to afford to run a V6 at 70mph soon...I would deffo keep the 2.8 mate, they are a 4x4 thats reliabilty and economy are almost second to none.

Re: 3.2v6?I think the 2.8 owners will be a trifle biased towards their motors....
Can't argue the fact that they are noisy at motorway speeds, not as luxurious as a B, and definitely not speed merchants, but they are pretty reliable and frugal enough at 30+mpg too. The V6 will run rings round a 2.8 on tarmac and is certainly quieter, but the running costs are likely to be somewhat higher. Jim...

Re: 3.2v6?Not sure what to do now.
I use the Peugeot for space on motoway runs etc and the Frontera for just general driving really. If the 2.8 was better on the motorway I'd sell the peugeot tomorrow
Re: 3.2v6?follow ur heart mate never mind what folk say its you that will be driving it

Re: 3.2v6?Pre 2001 Dti may be a compromise.
80mph+ all day log and 35mpg.
Re: 3.2v6?anyone got a 3.2 or a Dti in north wales that I can try
Re: 3.2v6?Yes, me.
Re: 3.2v6?damn we are opposite sides of north wales. I live near Aberdaron
Re: 3.2v6?I've just done a run in my 3.2, 240 miles at 70 to 75 mph and she returned 23.2mpg. If you do most of your traveling around town then you're looking at 14-17mpg

Re: 3.2v6?the most common, is the gaskets on the intake manifold, easy to do, and cost £25 each,

Re: 3.2v6?Nothing major at all. Main issues I've had are vacume leaks around the inlet manifold gasket. And another thing to keep your eye on is the viscous fan as they often get fubarred and when they overheat they crack heads and not head gaskets. When I got mine I had to replace one of the heads because of this. Other than this they seem rock solid mechanically. And the power for such a big truck is really good, but bare in mind driving with a heavy foot they do get quite expensive
