Hi ya, excellent forum for a newbie. Thinking of buying a 3.2 V6. What bad bits do i look for? How many miles per gallon do they do?

some good info in this section, just make she has a good service history, and around 19 to 21mpg

Like Andy sais, check for a good service history, They are pretty much bullet proof mechanically. The main prob's I've encountered are overheating issues related to the viscous fan and offen they get vacume leaks around the common chamber. Other than that I've had no probs at all with mine...

think its 25k to 30k, i do mine at 20k

Price wise for the cambelt you're looking at loads if you go to Vauxhall for the parts. Everything is sold seperately and are expensive, and 9 times out of 10 the cant even get them any more. Your best bet is to look on ebay US and check for the kit for a 6VD1 engine code for isuzu Rodeo. Thats if its the earlier V6 till 2001 you looking at getting. Not sure what the engine code is for the later models.

I managed to get a belt for 7 quid on ebay but I'll be scouring ebay.com for the rest (adjusters and idler pulleys) for the next few months. Hopefully someone on here might know of a local supplier which isn't too expensive
