i cant get a bus or anyway to get to work on public transport and now im not fit enough to do a 22 mile ride before i start work .some shifts if i want to start 50 mins before im due i could get public transport but others just i cant get and employers arnt bothered about us as employees mine say it's my responsability wtf

The issue is a change of government, but who us best, I cant see this coalition lasting a full term but the damage has already been done and its unlikely to be back tracked as by anyone as its a good earner for tose that do not suffer from the price hikes but want to better from a political career that pays for their fuel and ego through expenses and gets them well paid director jobs in multiple companies while still in government.

It should be one job salaried and reasonable expenses just for travel and accommodation (not food rent or anything else. you still have to pay for your own food at home) like renovate a block of flats for MP's to stay in and share when in London, that will save millions.

Greed and self interest runs politics now, beliefs, morals and commitment have long left our political system, we have not been much better than Russia in the last 5 years.

Go back to when the labour movement was first started, I picked labour as they have their original routes built on the needs of the common worker, it was a movement started for the people by the people and introduced world shattering systems for health and social care.
What ever party you hold your allegiance to you can not deny the legacy of those poeple who fought and won at great expense to themselves in the early days who set this system up to be a system we can be proud of and honestly to this day most of the world still envy's.
But progressive governments over the last few decades have been eroding these rights we have and turning profit and commercialism to their own personal greed and political ends, this is where the rot has crept in and been doing so since the very least the mid 70's.
Government is a cash cow for the well heeled and a jail master for the impoverished in the year 2011.

I dont really understand all this political woffle, but what gets me is why are we, as working class people paying for MPs allowences? We dont get trevel expenses payed for by our employers, so why should they?? and why do they need a second house? they know what the job involes, so they should move to a sutible location, or put up with a long and costly commute, they know what they are getting into, its not as if they are forced into it, I'm sure they are more than welcome to work at the local co-op if they dont want to pay for travel, or dont want to move house. I agree with BoxClever, that this country waists so much money on crap they dont need.

I mean this winter, here in cambridgeshire we got maybe 1cm of snow total? and next to no rain and yet they are spreading salt on the roads every night "just in case". now dont get me wrong I know some places needed it, but we didnt, it was a wast of money! no two ways about it.

As for taxes, well the only thing I can do knowing full well it wont get taxed if fart in my own room. We get taxed for everything! If the goverment had there own way I'd have to pay tax on money I give to my own brother, and I think that its just bang out of order!

I think there should just be one tax that pays for everything, ok I know it work be somthing like 80% of our total earnings, but at least it would be simple and manageable, and then things could be much cheaper and people could live a much less stressful life! or a "tax free" policy where by people only get say £1 or £2 a hour, but then thats it, you get to keep all of your earnings and the employer pays the tax for you.

I don't think this is party specific. Lets be honest the Cons have had their moments in the past And using local councils as a guide, Lib Dems are far from perfect as well.

If this country was run as a business, by astute, competent business people we would be in a much better state. Why is it that private contract companies queue up to carry out services that have historically been run by the council ? It's because the private contract companies know that councils are inefficient and couldn't run a bath. Private companies have several less management layers and operate in an efficient manner, and make money. Every employee has to justify their role, and works damned hard to keep it. Councils on the other hand ................

Yep so everytime the price of fuel goes up so does the price of everything else. I work as a Hgv mechanic and im fed up with seeing the small halliers going bust its just big faceless companies that care about no one left, or forigen trucks running on there own cheap diesel

The sooner people realise NOTHING can be done about fuel, tax, Government etc, the better.

The People in charge are only in it for themselves, weither it was the last government, this Government or the next, the normal people like ourselves cant change anything, doe'nt matter how much you rant, rave or protest, end of.

The UK has 500 or so MP's, 30+ million people, what hope have we got at them odds !!!

As you say, over many hundreds of years the people have rebelled, and won over many things they believe in fighting for.

Unfortunately, here in Britain, there is no longer a fighting spirit. That True British Bulldog Fighting spirit that both my Great Grandad and Great Great Grandad, and many other great men & boys lost there lives for fighing in 2 World Wars has gone !!!

When I was a school, we used to open a map of the world or get a globe out and find "GREAT BRITAIN" on it, now for some unknown reason it now called "UNITED KINGDOM" !!!

UNITED KINGDOM MY ARSE !!!! There's nothing United about it !!!

Greed, hatered, and racial tension is rife and getting worst. Immigration is spiriling out of control.

The two most powerful things in "GREAT BRITIAN" are The Government & The Media.

The Government are all Bent and Theiving Scum Bags.

And the media, well, take this week for instance, FRIDAY NIGHT "A COUNTRY UNDER PROTEST", hyped up "go slow" that never got off the ground, no media coverage at all, ok, a 60 second film on Sky news, a pay to watch channel, not BBC or ITV, a subject that affects us all.

Then you got the very important story, that will have no affect on any of our lives, of the two blokes, secretly recorded having a "Man Chat" between themselves regarding a "Female Soccer Offical !!", a whole week of TV,Internet, Radio and Newspaper Coverage.

Then, on Friday Morning on the BBC breakfast Show we had Good 'Ol Quiten Wilson trying to get his point over regarding the fuel price rises via an online petition he has started a few weeks ago, he was quoted as saying "Yes, it's going well, just over 20,000 signatures to date"

ERRRM, HELLO !!!! ...... 20,000 Signatures, 16 million motorists in the UK (SORRY GREAT BRITAIN), doing well Quinty me ol' mucker, only another 15,980,000 to go !!!!

So where does this Sad, deluded Country's loyalties lie ???? Need I say more !!!

Can the last person to leave this once wonderful and proud land called "GREAT BRITAIN" please turn the lights off !!!!
