They said that the light was on during the test but when it was driven up the road it went out and after 3 ignition on/off tests it stayed off - MOT pass and no advisories..
The manager at the garage also said that it was the best Frontera that they have had thru' the garage in a long time (I know, I look after it) so that was an added bonus. To have the abs sensor replaced would have cost £346.80 parts n labour then £45 for MOT. I have just payed £100 for test and diagnostic so I feel a lot better.
Now I know what sensor it is I can try cleaning the plug connection and/or trying to get hold of a cheaper part to fix it.
It always makes you feel good when your vehicle passes an MOT but was even better in this case as I knew it would cost a lot for such a small (sensor and wire) thing.
Thanks for any advice that you lot gave me - although I did think there would be more due to the collective knowledge on here.. If anyone has a 99' offside front abs sensor (on board display type) going cheap then give me a shout.
