Re: About To Pickup My 1998 Fronterai put it into 4wd dorve forward let hubs lock since then i switch between 2wd an 4wd i dip the clutch aye just mind when you reverse in 2wd you will unlock the hubs and if you dont go back far enough the hubs wont unlock so when go forward it wont sound to healthy an drive like yer wheel has come off. I have left my hubs locked mine an A 97 and had no grinding as i said switching between 2wd an 4wd H while on the move i dont know if you can do it without dipping the clucth i have never tried i dip for a second and switch between the above ratio without any grinding or issues tried an tested method all day im usualy in second or first gear and doing less than 20 mph though an have not need to stop to switch

Re: About To Pickup My 1998 FronteraHow will i know whether mine has auto locking hubs?
Is there a way to check if the 4wd system is working? Still not got it, MOT place failed it again as the rear brakes were imbalanced. At least they're not just passing it for the sake of it!!! ![]()
Re: About To Pickup My 1998 FronteraOn the front wheels if they are auto it will have "Auto" written in red and the plate will be smooth
