Re: greenlanning for newbies 18th of septI had thought I might be able to join you all as a passenger on this trip, but circumstances dictate otherwise (hence I've kept quiet).
Whilst I don't know the full route you will be attempting, I do know that the first timers will have a great day out. White Stones can be a little scratchy later in the year (slippy state section) but can be bypassed if approaching from the side slope section. As mentioned, there is a tarmac route around the "carwash", although this vid shows three standard cars having no problem: Mind you, if it is deeper (your leaders will know), it can get quite hairy (I was in the lead LR): And here's how not to do it (note entry speed): You are going to have a great day out - don't forget to take the camera and share your pictures here on your return. Re: greenlanning for newbies 18th of septYup, have seen those vids before Trugga. The 'kamikaze' approach isn't the best
Pity you aren't coming, would have been nice to put a face to the vids so to speak
Re: greenlanning for newbies 18th of septRight guys, it looks like its going to moist weather to say the least so gate openers will need wellies (I need a gate opener )
Remember this is not a pay and play and we will not be wheel spinning about tearing up the countryside, it a nice gentle introduction to some great unsurfaced and surface roads for that matter in stunning scenery should the mist hold off. For those with petrols or cars full of sensors a bit of silicone spray will help keep the electrics dry as there will very likely be a few large and surprisingly deep puddles. Keep a good distance from the car in front, remember he can throw a rock up and smash your screen or get caught on a steep section and roll back. A CB will be very handy. Recharge your camera batteries and remember the camera. And best of all, enjoy Ste

On that note, will WD40 be ok? I can't remember if its conductive or not My 2.8 shorty - now sold, and comments here My old dti - now sold "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOW --- What a Ride!"
