DVD Burning softwareIs there a DVD burning software available to download from anywhere? My laptop has a dvd burner installed but I cannot burn dvd's I can only watch. Before you say "Its a read only drive" it does say on it "recorder", just need the software. Also free would be even better, so can anybody point me in the right direction?? Cheers....

Re: DVD Burning softwareSounds more like a driver issue Kel than software...
You should be able to use the dvd writer without any dedicated software, ie drag and dropping files in windows explorer... See if you can download the latest driver for it, then check in device manager in control panel to check it is fully enabled... Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!

Re: DVD Burning softwareMy laptop, older toshiba, cd drive plays dvd but will only record to cd. May be worth checking the specs beforehand. If that is the case I changed a drive, very simple, open the drive, one screw on the underside of the laptop and the drive pulls out.
Re: DVD Burning softwareKel - I used to use DVD Shrink for copying films - whoops did I say that - then when Sony started putting nasty bits in to make the data to be copied look like it was to big to go onto the DVD, used DVD Decryptor. Have just googled DVD Shrink and there are a load of free downloads available. I haven't copied any for about a year of more now, so I can't quote what is the latest level etc to download.
Re: DVD Burning software
There is nothing wrong with creating a back up I dont think Pete... However selling hundreds of "backups" out of a suitcase at a bootfair is somewhat illegal... Are you on the same pitch as usual 2moz Pete and have you got the A team movie yet? Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!

Seconded. I have the portable version (see http://portableapps.com) which doesnt even install itself to your system. Works a treat. Jim...
