Bought one! (at last)

After looking for a Fronty LWB diesel for a month and coming close to buying one yesterday I've just won one on Fleabay.

'99 T , LWB DTI (base model) 12 months ticket, 77k seems tidy enough, £1242.00 Picking it up tomorrow afternoon.

Well I got it !

A few little niggles, but overall a cracking motor.

Bodywork is probably the best I have seen for the year and it cruises along beautifully . Not sure I'd want to be any taller than I am though. At 5'10 the seat just goes back far enough for me.
Picked it up and it was completely filthy! But to be fair I'd rather that than have someone try and tart it up. Got it home and broke out the sponge and car wax (don't think it's seen wax for a few years!) , a very quick hoover and polish and shes good to go.

Snag list so far is :
Usual speedo/rev counter intermittent operation (fine with lights on. Must buy a soldering iron!)
Engine/Gearbox/diffs/T.box oil change and all filters
Cambelt change
Source a body coloured A bar
Two A/T's on the front to match the rear
Low range lever jumps into neutral when going over bumps up a very steep hill in 4wd
Rocker gasket
Get rid of the horrendous aftermarket parking sensor! (see pics in members rides for how not to wire up one of these things. Gotta love packing tape )
Buff the body and properly wax.

And anything else I think of over the next few days

Oh, and I haven't named it yet, but I'll think of something.

3 points mate theres no cam belt to change the diesel has a chain that lasts for ever [ well over 100k anyway]
& only use the 4wd off road & not on hard surfaces unless covered in snow or ice
i squeeze 6 4 behind my frontys wheel

Must be the a huge aux belt that I spied when quickly making sure it had an engine before I drove it away

Don't understand why I can't use 4WD on a rutted surface going up a hill so steep that a RWD car would struggle ?

6' 4' ? Sheesh , don't know how you do it. Are your knees touching your ears ?

And yup, already enjoying it. Stunned at how smooth it is to be honest. More smooth than my old 300 TDI Disco for sure!

i take it you aint got now how did you phrase it ? oh yeah "bum wiggle"

it is a bit tight in the seat but ive got used to it now & i only really do short journeys anyway
& as for not using 4wd on hard surfaces you will have to ask for a techinal reason in the tech section because thats way beyond me all i know is its a no no
