ShootingOut of mild curiosity, does anyone else on here enjoy shooting?
I have to use my Fronty to access my shooting permissions each week, and I shoot with 12g, .22 Remington semi auto rimmy, and FAC air. The Fronty so far has been far more capable off road than it's predecessor, a 1984 Defender. Fronty LWB '54 reg 2.2i SE 16v petrol in very shiny black metallic
Re: ShootingI sometimes use mine for shooting....got a couple of mirrors with .22 holes in em when I forget the barrel sits below the scope

Re: ShootingThats why I bought mine, it was to stop my daily driver getting bashed around on farm tracks. Works too! John You cant polish a t*rd..
But you can roll it in glitter if its broken - fix it if it isnt - mod it!

Re: Shootingand with the tailgate open, many's the time I nearly took out the rear window!

Re: ShootingLove shooting, been doing it most of my life.
Most of it done within the Air Cadets, but used to help run a private .22 club at the bus company I worked with. I dont think I'll be going along with Gregster though, I like my mirrors, and my life. Regards, Keith.

Re: ShootingOver three years since the last post in this thread, and I STILL swear by my Fronty for use as an off road shooting tool. In five years or so I have never once got inextricably stuck or depended on others for assistance. Fair play!!!!!

Re: ShootingWish I had a hole in the roof. so often I have only just missed shooting the mirrors or tailgate glass in the heat of the moment!

Re: ShootingOnly realy used mine to get to the shoot, but occasionally the air rifle thru the window was fine.
Most of my shooting is done with the 12bore and walked up Pheasant & Duck so no real need for shooting out of her. Has been most places the tractor or quad goes with the feed in the back or lots of people to take across the fields to a work party. Not to sure how the RAV4 will stand up to it, but will find out come Oct. Trev 2000 Frontera 2.2 DTi Ltd

Re: ShootingHad a Suzy SJ410 soft top a while back and that was the mutts nuts offroad and also for towing. Bloomin' car fell apart gradually through designed-in obselescence, but very impressive as a tractor. The Fronty is way ahead though at the mo despite its ongoing maintenance issues.

Re: Shootingweather permitting we usually go with both sunroofs popped out . A 22LR out the back one and a Air Arms 410 carbine in multishot out the front one . The LR is good for when we are driving round picking off little bunnies and the Air Arms for when we park up waiting for them to leave the burrows . I'm very lucky that i have permission to shoot on any land in about a 5 mile diameter of my house . Only for pests and vermin as game is big business up here and not something i can afford . Though i did have a deer a cpl of years ago but i used the front end of a Fiat Stilo at 60mph to take it down . Very friendly with the gamekeeper so often get invited to beat for grouse etc and always end up with a cpl of birds and a pocketful of cash and if he has any problems on his land we get asked if we can help sort it out foxes etc

them were the days
Re: ShootingI have got a 300 acres caravan park to cull as soon as most of the holiday makers bugger off...its over run with buns, fed by the holiday makers, problem is they burrow under the concrete caravan bases and then the burrows collapse and the bases break up. Then the holiday makers moan that there base has a crack in it, but would have a hissy fit if they see you controlling the number of wabbits....cant win...
Might be doing so pigeons in the grain barns again, air rifles over livefire as they dont punch holes in the roof on the non fac ones. Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!

Re: Shootinghad a bbq the other week and after too many beers a pigeon landed on the road , out came the air rifle and took it out . my mate made the claim " if you kill it ,you eat it " ......so bbq pigeon breast it was ! seemed a bit stringy but i think it gor cremated on the bbq . it was a proper pigeon though not a flyin rat
Re: ShootingWoodie breast cremated would be tough in fairness. Best flash fried in a tasty marinade, or even better, smoked then grilled.
