2.0l out V6 in?

Hello all, has anyone found or perhaps created for themselves a list of the mods and extras required to squeeze a 3.2l V6 into a 2.0l Sport SWB?

My 97 2.0l has just blown a second head gasket in less than 10k miles so it's time to spend a significant amount of cash and it seems like a good idea to consider something a bit different. The car is used for laning, occasional trials and as the service and tow barge for a competition MG Midget so mpg is not a serious consideration whereas extra power will be welcome.

Yes I know I could just go out and buy a more suitable vehicle but I'm attached to this one and would prefer to give it a little overdue mechanical TLC and a new lease of life.

I've only recently got rid of my 2003 2.2 TDi which was much better on power but somehow lacked the character of the older car which I've now owned for around 10 years.

Any relevant thoughts, suggestions and comments will be much appreciated.

My thoughts are its possible, though most things are given cash

When choosing the engine or donor car go for the non fly by wire V6 and save a lot of ECU headaches.

I'm watching this thread with interest, as something that had occurred to me. Would the v6 bolt straight onto gearbox/transfer box or require some sort of adaptation? Or would you also need the gearbox and transfer box out of the donor car?

Makes it easier to get the right diff` ratio`s ,but to get the B series rear axle in you will need to cut all the linkage mounting points off both axles & weld yours on the B,as the A is 4 point fixing & the B is 5 points.Not sure on the front though.

You will also need;
gearbox
dashboard
cabin & under-bonnet looms
ECU
radiator
exhaust system (will need shortening)
prop shafts (will probably need adjusting)

TBH.the best bet is to get a complete donor car as there will be loads of fiddly bits & having them to hand will save loads of running around

diff ratio on your 2.0 will be 5.13:1

Cant say for sure what the 3.2 ratio is.
