Main problem solved!!!! BUT

Well just when I thought I was getting on top of things with my fronty another little niggle has occured, this is whats happening:-

Starts no problem from cold, drives no EML 10mph, no prob, :D 20mph no prob, :D 30 mph no prob :D but just before it reaches 40mph and changes up gear again the EML comes on :shock: with the result of not slowing down but quiet the opposit it speeds up / becomes a little more spritely :shock: :D :lol: :dance: as of yet I have not had it read but one that cropped up before was throttle sensor?? could it be this or a leaky vac pipe or something ells.

as I have mentioned it speeds up when the eml comes on so I suppose its not a bad thing ???????????

Any thoughts would be welcome on this matter

That will most probably be a minute leak on a flexible fuel line sucking in a small amount of air & causing the sensor on the injector pump to ask the ECU toask for more fuel for that particular throttle opening.Was the code in the P1220 area ??

That is where it can get a bit confusing,it may not necessarily leak out had 1220 on mine & it turned out to be one of the flexible s by the bellhousing,it had a cracked end which was enough to cause a problem,will find pic`s laterbud wifey needs a hand in the kitchen NOW :wink: :lol:

Right Thanks for the photo, this is where my heart skipps a beat :oh yer: with the mention of fuel pump and bleeding the system as this is not my strong point :oops: but just out of intrest you say that they come from the gearbox and go to the fuel pump !! do I take it that this is where the fuel pump gets it suction from / negative pressure from??

also am I right in thinking that these pipes have metal fittings on the end going to the fuel pump?? I only ask as normally I would have gone out side and had a look for myself but the winds up and the rains coming in horizontally

As said mine was cured by trimming the pipes at the pump but it could cocievably be any of the pipes shown,it may be prudent to check any that were disturbed whe fitting the new steel pipe at the fuel tank :wink:
