i was payed off a few months ago and i have been looking for work every day since .after posting out cv,s to various company's and never hearing from them it gets you down in the dumps i have been working in the demolition industry for 10 years removing asbestos from all over the uk and i need a change of work ,as i am no longer willing to travel and stay away from home for months at a time. i am a time served HGV mechanic and a qualified welder/hotcock burner. so i am looking to get back on the tools .i never left them as i still work on any vehicle all the time . but today i applied for a job with a garage that's only 15 miles from home. i was looking on line and came across this job for a time served mechanic with some 4x4 experience. so i sat down and put pen to paper and sent in my cv its got to be worth a try .now for the bad news they only work on green ovals mainly i have had a few my self and worked on them from time to time for other people. this is a small 4x4 company not a franchise but as i see it you got to try ,as long as it puts food on the table and tyres on my truck i will do any thing to get back in to work. i will just have to test drive with a paper bag on my head but i will disinfect my tools before placing them on my frontera so wish me luck as i can do with all the luck i can get just now.

try a forklift company it was what my dad did a few years back long as you can hold a spanner most will take and train. he has a company van, laptop, mobile he was a mechanic spealised in electric vechicels he was about 50 when he changed proffesion. seems happy enough goes on course`s. its another avenue. why i went to college wanted something new that fitted my personal circumstances. my partner health bad and my son has emoital problems ( ADH) so i cannot do full time work as he only does half days and the wife can`t take and collect him everyday. and when im out he a wee bugger to her. so i was self employed then my partner became disabled i got stuck at home going insane had to do something so applied to do a college course for something to do just done a year. i am now going to do Math summer school so i can get into a part time electrical techian course. i have number dyslexia so i have to do maths course.
