Not had to do it myself but from seeing other posts most breakdown services will only provide recovery on surfaced highways, if you are on an unsurfaced road then its best endevours on their part

Always worth taking some cash lanning, can help to bribe a local farmer to bring his tractor down to drag you out. Failing that as many FOG phone numbers as your phone takes

Ive done routes that are well travelled like the Wayfarer on my own at a weekend, you can be pretty sure some one will come trundling past and you not more than Five miles from a phone box , take your boots

Some times you just decide you have the time and want the space, just pick your route and be sure you know the route and area.
