There's rubbish out there

i've been looking around for a while trying to find myself a new fronty
i'm not after much,just something to use as a runaround,something to have a bit of fun in,
i've managed to have a look at a few and am amazed at how much rubbish is out there and hoew much people
are asking for them.I looked at one recently,the bloke wanted over a grand for it(a 2.4 m plate i think) i would'nt have offered him anymore than £300 the state it was in.
I know most people on here are slighty mad but fronty owners or would be owners are not totally insane.
I think it's because punters are now a bit more aware of the niche fronty market and are trying to take advantage of our weakness.
anybody else got any opinions on the subject?

Most that get sold on here tend to go for the correct price, after all its a buyers market and there are still those that dont realise this, some people even want to make a profit on a car they bought last year

Just take your time, there are bargains out there, its best to go a bit longer looking for the bargain than buy an over priced pig.

My SWB was the 8th one I saw, and it was the best of the bunch and the cheapest !

Some people may call me a timewaster, but I traveled over 2,000 miles in 6 weeks to view the other 7 vehicles, and most were not as described.

Things I found :

o Sellers not disclosing the amount of rust on the bodywork.
o Obvious mechanical defects occuring the morning of the test drive
o Dealers wanting top prices for cars with no history and defective heaters / 4WD etc

As was mentioned, there are good ones out there, being sold by genuine people. It's luck of the draw if you get to see a good one first.

I found mine on eBay, the seller had been messed around, we agreed a price and the truck was mine.

Keep an eye out here and on eBay.

The beauty of buying here is you can trace the things that have happened to the car by going over old posts, its like a service book.
Just hope one shows up soon for you.

just seen as swb in the for sale section on here,not sure its still for sale but it only went on yesterday.
i need to speak to the money holder first(wife) before i make any enquires though.

I know how you feel i've got a 2.0 sport that i got off e-bay not a bad price taxed and mot'd so took a chance and cought the the frontera bug - so i started looking for another one - had a look at pushing the £££ to a 2.2 dti swb "b" ruled out all the ones i went to see for one resson or another (think i wanted to much for not enought ££) so started looking at 2.8 swb's - i know it's not going to be mint but flashing lights on road test that never happened before, coolant leak that only happened after i drove it, re-sprayed with filler showing where it's been cought again etc.....

At least i think i know the one i've got and it's little problems - been thinking of changing the engine or getting a doner car and making 1 out of the 2 rather than changing the car it's easyer
