So, on Saturday morning I'm picking up a P reg 1996 2.8 LWB Diamond with 72000 miles on the clock. So... you guys are the experts, so what should I be doing first?
So far all I've got is : Oil+filter change Possibly air filter if its mucky
Isn't there something to do with resetting the front suspension to counter the last 12 years of sag?

I would go so far as changing the gearbox, transfer case and front and rear diff oils as well. Never know how long they have been in there, When I first got my frontera all the transmission oils were black as soot.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it! Me Truck

Got my haynes manual ordered, hopefully it'll arrive on Monday. Will check axle breathers too. I'm just hoping to do as much simple stuff as possible as soon as I get the vehicle, hoping to prolong its life

Check rear diff` cover plate for weeping , caused by rusting.
Another thing to remember, before draining oil from gearbox or transfer box make sure the fill plug comes undone, the last thing you need is an empty `box & a siezed fill plug !!!
