Re: Longmynd 28th June....ReveiwRighteo, bit thanks to Alex, Manny and Mart leading the way. Even if Manny's sat nav couldnt find Twickenham (or was it Twitchen?)
Had a great day as usual and the fact that I didnt break anything made it even better. The weather held up right into the evening when it started getting colder and even the slight bit of rain we had held off until the darkness started setting in. Didnt get many pics and the ones I did take arent great. Still though a couple of good ones. Wayfarer in reverse was nice, But I still prefer it coming up from the white stones side. White stones always feels worse going up then down to me for some reason. As it turned out I was 50 miles away from home when we finished, and the first 6 miles of the journey were on single track back roads before hitting the main road. That made for a hair raising moment coming down a very steep hill with an acute right hander over a bridge and a surfaced road continuing straight on into a gate. Well done to the first timers who came out, I would consider what we did to be the perfect lanes for breaking people into the hobby. Hopefully they will find it as infectious as the rest of us have. Eventually I will get round to polishing the scratches out, I keep promising that to myself. Thanks to Spence for opening the gates (again) and closing them (again). Although the poor lad must have been freezing towards the end of the day. Right then... Re: Longmynd 28th June....ReveiwSorry its taken so long to get on guys and gals. What can I say? The trips the people arrange on this site just get better and better. Thanks very much to Alex for arranging this trip and to Manny and Mart for your leadership.
What a brilliant day out! left home at 5.30am and got home just before 3.00am the next day Again it was great to catch up with the usual suspects and ace to meet some new faces. A big Hello to Angie and Kev, and Dan and Mark, hope you all enjoyed your first time laning, you looked like you were having a good time! D & M, loved the pick up and got some great ideas for Nemesis and a few from Alex and Manny ref the twin stackers Well we started the day up at the Glider station on top of the Mynd where we split into 1 group for the beginners and two groups of less intelligents. We went in opposite directions, our groups doing a few gentle lanes first then progressing to a really tight and scratchy lane that may result in fog's first B Series Cammo paint job cos Angelina got a bit roughed up (but that's how she likes it!) just parked her further away from the wifes car now so there's less chance of her noticing The views from up there were breathtaking and can only make you proud that we live in this beautifull country. Keep your 40 in the shade and miles of white sand, give me rolling green hills and sitting on some damp heather having a ham 'n' pickle sandwich any day. After spending nearly 6 hours on Longmynd and saying goodbye to Fuddy and Kyle, and John and the boys we made our way up to Corwen to do the Carwash and then onto the Wayfairer. The carwash was awsome and i ended up doing it twice, not because i was playing around though, in all the excitement, we managed to leave a photographer stranded on the other side so i went over and back again only to be told by Drift that we needed to be on the other side anyway to get onto the wayfairer, so throgh i went again but this time i think my rear diff sucked in a bit of welsh H2O so there's a job for next weekend when SWMBO has gone away for a few days The wayfairer was exhilarating! If the idiots that cause the damage up at the Bombhole end up getting it closed, I will hunt them down and feed them their spleens cos Everyone for generations should have the chance to drive across there, it's amazing. The new bash plates got a damn good testing and performed brilliantly, infact it even took the top off one rock A few special thanks go to Spencer, master gate opener and closer, Alex, that boy is a credit to you mate and i hope my littlun turns out as good as him. And a big thanks to Zebadee for being an excellent co-driver, especially when we were coming down the White Stones in the dark, and for not breaking my truck when i was co-driving, T-cut's on you mate Anyhoo, here's a few piccies ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And ofcause, the obligatory nature shots ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() SIZE DOES MATTER!!
