Hi foggers Please be advised that on Sunday 20th June 2010 we will doing a Workday at the site...and some prep work for the impending weekender... We will meet at 9am at Notcutts garden centre just off j7 m20 (head towards maidstone from j7 and its immediately on your left...) (the meet point may be changed to the woods, if everyone attending has been before and knows where they are going...I will advise) Please bring with you any tools that you have that may be useful for clearing trees, digging and lunch/drinks as nowhere very near to get grub when you have worked up an appetite. Dont worry if you cant bring your fronty, we find somewhere to park the lesser cars if not 4x4's so you can still join in if you want to. Probably not a good idea to bring dogs to the work days, I am just concerned about them running around with chainsaws going and 4x4's moving around, and children must be kept on a tight leash and near parents at all times as we dont want any accidents. Workdays will be capped at 5 members + me, and we will be grafting as a team to get work done...this will involve some delegation of tasks within the team to ensure we are both productive and safe... This is gonna be hard graft, I can be a bit of a slave driver , and for maximum productivity please only add your name if you are available for the full day... Please note this is NOT a playday, and although some 4x4 driving/working will probably be involved during the day, we are there to work to get the site ready for the weekender... Anyone "outworked" by Sally will be on toilet emptying duty at the weekender!!!! Your safety is paramount, I must insist that anyone attending ensures that they stay a safe distance from any felling or chainsaw operations or moving vehicles... Falling debris can be unpredictable in its direction or distance of fall, so please be very careful... Please add your name to the list if you are coming to help with this, and thanks for your support guys...we are really getting there with the site now!!! See you soon Gregster

Well....just had grub, walked the dog, and unloaded the fronty...and we both bleedin knackered...BUT...What a blinding day, great company, loverly weather and we got loads done... Thanks to the "TEAM" today that made it happen... gotta say this was the most productive workday to date, we had a crew of grafters today who sweated the splinters out of their blistered little hands!!!Todays crew were... (in order of arrival)DJsarge....got there before we did, thats enthusiasm for ya...cheers for the sausage rolls and stuff mate (did you take the spoons back home with you???)...worked proper hard and made friends with the sticky stick Sal said...Well done for getting ya fronty up the hills on road tyres... Davetherave...arrived in convoy with us, with todays tow vehicle dragging the never ending heaps of woods to the fire piles, massive help, and wasthe guineau pig for testing the new access tracks up the hill we established...well done mate... Houndog...aka "Singit The FIRE STARTER"....NOT!!...(note to myself) "Never ask a fireman to start a fire, the only succeed in setting light to themselves!" ...Did loads today...had chainsaw issues, but soldiered on nethertheless...His fronty sporting its new front towbar and removable winch... Jammywagonwheel...Was all cammo'd at the start of the day, but wasnt by the end, not cos he got undressed , but because the undergrowth that his realtree camo gear blended so well with is now gone, so you happy campers can pitch you tents in positive luxury... Another friend of sticky the stick (I am gonna have to watch Jammy and djsarge and make sure that dont sneak any sticks into their tents at the weekender to do some "making twiglets") Excellent effort matey, bet you chainsaw aint ever seen that much action...well done... Mapracing...A trooper as always...grafted with Sal for hours clearing the clearing and staying well away from me with Louis' strimmer! Sterling effort as always Paul, the bionic arm working good and proper now...Well done mate...Sadly couldnt bring his shorty today, as it decided to spring a fuel leak, after Paul had loaded it and changed the wheels in readyness...so he came down in his L200...please bring a proper car next time Paul... Retropedro...Arrived last as had to load a load of timber into his Sadona, and then unload it up my workshop... Cheers for the timber mate will make a pukka frame for the new giant picnic table...(or giant birdbox ...I am no good with wood as I cant weld it, so not quite sure how this will turn out yet...but it will be "industrial"!!)... Pete always grafts like no other, just gets stuck in and shows us young whippersnappers up...and when still recovering from his Club 80-130 all inclusive holiday!!Your a star pete, look forwards to the shorties reappearance at the weekender... Sally (aka Gregstersboss)...As always Sally sunned herself in the clearing reading hello magazine and filing her nails....NOT...she grafted like a fella, sweated like a fella, and drove my 2.8lwb down a really steep hill like a fella! (have you recovered yet Paul???)...Brill as always Sally, the lads gave you a run for your money today so it looks like I am on Kazi emptying duty at the weekender! Me...Spent most of the day attached to a powertool...my kind of day...either Louis strimmer or my chainsaws...done 7litres of petrol today...but Houndog used a bit setting fire to himself... The results...Well the clearing is properly clear, ready for camping and the weekender....and we have a massive lumber pile for the camp fires (for the next 2yrs!) no exaggeration our fire pile is about twice the size of a lwb frontera! We tidied up a load of the tracks and added some new challenging climbs and cut throughs...so new stuff to try...The top bomb wholes were improved last week with an additional area now opened up to the left, so turning and parking is much much easier...and it was strimmed up yesterday by Louis... Few more bits to do in prep for the weekender, but the back of it is broken thanks to the guys (and sally's) efforts today... A huge thanks today...and bring on the weekender, cant wait to sit around the camp fire with you guys and share a few well earned beers...

Big thanks to all for the giggles and blisters! Thoroughly enjoyed myself! First proper days graft ive done in years - and dont I feel it this morning! Its good to look at the site at the end of the day and see something that we achieved - not like IT - where its all virtual Big thanks to Phil (Houndog) for the lift up there with MadDog, I'll drive next time and for the Mythbusters moment "am I missing an eyebrow" - Rembemer - firemen put OUT fires... Greg, Sal, Map & Retro - Grafters isnt the word - we didnt stop all day, well a cheeky fag and a drink.. and then back to it.. loads cleared.. DJSarge & Dave(theRave)for the StickyStick moments - we got a routine going for clearing trees into woodpiles - and woodpiles were then shifted (dragged) to the other end of the carpark / camping area ready for the Weekender - turnaround was so quick - Greg told us to slow down.. Big thumbs up to Dave for the driving / dragging part - which saved HOURS of carrying sticks.... logs... sticks.. vines.. sticks...brambles... sticks..and for the tree stump removals Ill keep an eye out at work for some chains for you. I could feel maybe just a little bit of "chain envy" going on there. Me - did around a gallon of petrol, a bottle of chain oil in my 'ikkle chainsaw - which as Greg said - has never worked so hard in its life, had a few hiccups - but nothing a clean out and a scrub couldnt sort out - like me when I got in... Big thanks - and see you all at the weekender john
