Hi all,
I cannot remember if I have introduced myself.
My name is Peter Chilvers. Chilly to all my friends.
I live in Kings Lynn, Norfolk. I work for a major food manufacturer. Trained as a car mechanic. Worked at Vauxhall main dealerships just before the Frontera came out. So net really worked on them much.
I have just purchased my first Frontera. A 'N' reg 2.2 Petrol LWB.
I am quite pleased with it so far, although it needs a few jobs to bring it up to a good standard. Started on a few. Oil and filter change. Massive difference to oil pressue. Soo dirty the old oil. New thermostat and Antifreeze. Next will be a brake bleed, they are a bit soft and the fluid is looking old, and a brake check. New spark plugs at the same time. This is all done when on time off work. Going to whip the timing covers off at the same time and have a of the check belt condition. I can get new belt and tensioner for £65. Is that good?
Looking to do some off roading but never done this before. Anywhere good to go in the Kings Lynn area?
I have a bog std version at the moment. Use to have a discovery for a while. Never done any off roading with this but in mags they talk about axle breathers and snorkles etc. Do people on here bother with them? Are they needed.
Well say hi
Chilly
