How did I fall in love so quicky?!?

Howdy's

Last Thursday I decided to sell my run-around car and my van and go for 'something in the middle' ... On Saturday I was looking at replacing it with a saloon or estate car of some type...

On Sunday I was out cycling to the shops and - now, with my 'look out for nice looking cars' eyes plugged in - I saw this beautiful vehicle go past... didn't even recognise it ... still not sure ive ever seen one before! Lol

Anyway, that was a Frontera (b / mark 2?!?!? - why both????  hehe ) and yesterday I purchased one ... 2.2 v6 - lwb - LE).

Its not in brilliant shape - and it feels like the EGR needs a thorough cleaning, and the wiring looks ... like a monkey has rewired it at some point .... and there is a little surface rust.. but ive been busy today taking that off and putting some anti-rust primer down, ready for a second coat tomorrow.

Anyway.. somehow Ive fallen in love with it on a matter of hours .... usually takes me weeks to appreciate a vehicle and then 'love it' ..

Slightly scared, but very happy :D ... anyway, just saying "hi!".... he's called 'Honky' :D :D :D

Hello, hi and welcome along

I did exactly the same, got bored of lowered VW's and fancied a 4x4... sold our perfectly good daily driver and bought a plum of a Fronty 'a' Within a few miles of driving it home the engine management light came on, the steering wandered about all over the road, it over heated and then it refused to start. Strangely though, I bloody love it haha.

My story is among similar lines...

I was running around in a V6 Cavalier that needed both head gaskets doing, then my sister announced she wanted to sell her Fronty as she couldn't afford it anymore. I took it off her hands and I've driven nothing else since.

Admittedly I've traded up from 2.2 petrol to 2.8 diesel as I got bored of the petrol breaking down, but I love the cars as they're fun to drive on and off road, easy to fix, and cheap!

Welcome to the club
Jim...

Hi!

I am confused
"You said "I purchased one ... 2.2 v6 - lwb - LE)."

Was it a :
3.2 V6,
2.2i ( petrol )
- probably not a 2.2DTh?

Assume 3.2 V6 out of those, You probably bought the best one of the group and tbh they are pretty bullet proof.. though I do love to drive my DTi..
Fronty B, 2002 3.2 V6

Are you absolutely sure about this !!! give the relationship some time and you might have a re think after going through the mood swing cycles which might convince you that all vehicles are female!!!!!!!!!!
