DarrenH saying hi

Hello folks, i am darrenh (well i tried to be but that was taken, so i am version 2.2 !!)

i'm from kent and saw a '99 estate for sale back in may, thought hmm yeah, then promptly forgot all about it! the thread popped back to the top a couple weeks back so i started the ball rolling! i've owned vauxhalls since i passed my test in the 1990s but this is my first "big" griffon, although i have owned a defender before so not new to lumbering old offroaders!!

so anyway, i went up to look at the frontera yesterday and ended up buying it, then driving it 177 miles home ! its a 1999 2.216v estate, 77k miles, well looked after, good lot of history with it, just the standard model but it has the styling pack (oooooh!) i will put some pictures in the members rides but hello to everyone first :)

thanks for the welcome :)

i forgot to mention i originally trained as a mechanic, then quit, but carried on as hobby in my spare time. welding, fabricating, spannering, have done all of my own work on my vauxhalls over the years so expect to see some scary (but hopefully not!) updates to the diary thread !

question for robfog, i see from the thread you linked its all a bit nod and wink hush hush, but where (geographically) are the woods? in essex ? i'm in north kent, medway towns, not too far away

Its in Kent so a stones throw from you. Its run by Greg who also will supply all the parts you cant find see here  viewtopic.php?f=26&t=56207 We meet at Gregs workshop and then drive to it. If you don't make the convoy one of us will come and get you.

The woods is a great and safe place to see what a Frontera can really do either in yours or pop out with one of the nutters sorry others :D Greg describes it as miles of laning in a wood. Oh and the food is always good, the company is not too bad either
