Converted rangey lover!

Hi guys, my name's Ken. I'm a communications technician in the Army. Well, after 8 years of owning classic RRs I went out and bought a 2.8 LWB Frontera. It's this one on eblag Item 230079108362. Think I paid a reasonable price for it!

It drive's nicely and the engine's great, had it up to slightly illegal speeds on the motorway on the drive back this afternoon. Seems to have a few niggles, sticky driver's window, one broken door handle and not much travel in the clutch pedal. Hopefully all fairly easy to sort out, but I'll be asking for advice if I get stuck.

I've had to assure the wifey that the Frontera will NOT be going off road, but she said I could keep my battered old RR for greenlaning and pay&play days. I love my wife!

Am in Hertfordshire near Watford so if you guys have any pub meets or Greenlaning days planned I'll try and get along. Quite often visit Dorset, which is where the Rangey is at the moment, feeling sorry for itself after being drowned in a ford.

That's it for now, but I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as I get used to the Fronty.

Looks like youve done well there.
The clutch could just need bleeding or the bar behind the pedal adjusting out, but saying that I find the bite is low on the 2.8.

You have done the rite thing, in getting a fronty :wink:

Even if its not allowed off road, it can cope with the hammering iv been giveing mine over the last few weeks, so you might want to 'change' your wifes mind :wink:

As for workshop manual, Haynes should cover your model, but the TIS workshop CDs available on flea bay might be an idea, just make sure they are up to date. The four disc set :wink:

Sounds like a plan to me Mark. My RR is feeling a bit sick after getting submerged in a ford...well ok it was a river. Hopefuly it'll be up and running in a few weeks. We're looking at moving up to Broxbourne in the not too distant future, as I'm leaving the Army in July and wifey's work has several sites in Herts.

Andy, I made the bloke an offer without even seeing it, never even drove a Fronty before! Can say I'm not disappointed. Does need a few thinks sorting to make it a useable everday vehicle though. But certainly can't complain for the money.
