I'm a bit of a car enthusiast as well as a family chap in his middle years. Currently my car interests are performance Volvo and front engined Pork. Having two kids and large dogs has me using a Volvo T5 estate on short trips , fast and practical (apart from the 22 miles per gallon) which has become a bit of a joke in the curent climate.
I also live down a country track so you can see where this is going. I'm Needing something not too expensive , reasonable on fuel and cpable of roughing it just a teeny bit down our track ( which gets snowed in every winter these days).
So I've found myself drawn to the Frontera Diesel and I'm assuming an early 2.2 is going to be the one for me ?.
I will be looking for tips as to am I thinking along the right lines. I'm also hopeing they do a genuine 35 to 40 on a run in a manual as this is what I'm reading and would like an auto but suspect an auto might be a bad idea as I'd be dropping back closer to the 30 MPG. I would add that I'm suprised hw good looking this year of Frontera is and I think it's far sportier and chunkier than manya 4 by 4 in the same class. It appears to have a lot to offer.

.....you get away with the Volvo as you have a Dug. Had a couple of front engined ones myself ,they`re amazing. Frontera the same, although if like myself ,you dont like to hang around if you can help it, dont buy the V6 auto if you have an eye on the fuel guage....Great fun always has a price
