newby in Aberdeenshire

Hi, my names Howard but I either use hipplew or anything that I get called !!.
The main reason for my joining this group is that I have a W reg 2.2tdi lwb limited ( which is ironic :shock:

) as it is limited as to what it can do, as at the moment it is how we say up north a little lacking in the good old whisky and haggis department :oops:

. But be already reading some of the messagers and looking at some of the vacum pipes I think/hope the answer is just around the corner

. I know this is not the right thread but does anyone know of full sets of vacum pipe's that I can get from some where as I am thinking that this is a major problem with my fronty.

Any welcomes and info will always be welcomed

Dont know of any full sets of pipes, but I just got aprox 15m from a local auto factor and made them up my self.

Just do it slowly 1 at a time so you can see where they all go :mrgreen:

There should be a post up some where of me doing that and the leak off pipes. Also clean out the EGR whileyou are at it.

Hi Thanks for that wee snippit,
just one thing What is and where is the EGR looking at the engine from the front is it to the rear right of the engine next to the bulk head?? or is that something totally different! also at present i have not got any service maunals so I'm a bit blind as to the location of ALL the vacum pipes etc is there any diagrams floating about of the location of them all.
Once again I am asuming one of the main problems is with the vac system just looking at the ends of the pipes they are all cracked and easerly moved also just had the engine running with the bonnet up switched the engine off and where the vac tank/ solaniodes? actuaters are there is a burbble come hissing noise from that area????? I am asuming that yes there needs to be an exit valve but just not sure of the noise that should be coming from that area.

Hi I did all the vac pipes on mine.

Mine is a 2000 x reg 2.2 DTi Limited.

The EGR is in the middle of the engine block as you stand by the passenger wing looking over the vac pipes... :dance:

It has 2 bolts and a couple of vac pipes going to it. Take off and clean with carb cleaner. If its the first time its been off it can be very caked with carbon sh!t and need quite a bit of cleaning.

There is NO haynes manual for the later frontera, and most of the info I have came from the guys on here.

(sorry...Haynes don't tell lies....they just obscure the best way to do things by hiding it behind non-required removal of parts)
