Hello guys, from Doncaster south yorkshire

Hi guys new to the site, But not new to Vauxhall. Im a big Cavalier fan and had them all from a 1.6 to the gsi and V6. Last year i moved onto the Vectra V6. Ive like the Frontera's for a bit now but never owned one but im thinking about buying one that's why ive joined up to the site. So please look out for some of my post guys as im on the hunt for some info :drink:

Right guys i need to know the good things and bad things about frontera's as im thinking of buying the lwb.Ive put this post up on my normal site and not gettting that much info back. This is the post i started .....
I know they come in the 8v, 16v, V6 and oil burners. Are them engines the same ones that come in the Cavaliers and Vectras ? What are they like to drive and work on ? Are they bigger on the inside than a normal car ? What is the best engine to go for ( it will never see the off road with me but ive liked them for abit and just want to be able to say ive had one and they seem cheaper to buy than a mpv )

Then i found out ...

Engines in the LWB are different to the Cav engines....2.2 16v was never in the Cav or Vectra IIRC it was the stroked 2.0 2.2 that went in the Omega?, the 2.4i wasnt in Cav or Vectra, and the 3.2 wasnt, IIRC that was the same as the 3.2 Omega engine?

As for deisels: they are 2.3TD (snail paced uneconomical gash) 2.2 DTi (Not bad) 2.5DT (Best of the lot) & 2.8 (Not bad, but was discontinued due to emmisions.)

Need to know what the engine's are like. I take it the TD engine is different than the Cavalier/Vectra so i take it they DONT suffer from the fuel pump dying

I wouldnt mind a TD to nip over to France in, in the summer but ive been put off the TD with knowing the fuel pump is crap on the vectra

The V6 in the frontera is not the same as the omega, its an isuzu engine.
Also the 2.8 is an isuzu.
The 2.5 is a VM (Vittori manufacture)
The 2.3 is found in the carlton too
The 2.2 is a close derivative of the 2ltr ecotec
There is also a very nice 2.2dth which is very good

and the 2.0l sport engine comes from a cav too. welcome to the mad house!! i only live in selby so if you find any good green lanes then i might be able to join you!
