Hi to you all,
not been on this site before as i run a TD4 Freelander so it is usually the landyzone.Im thinking of buying my wife a 2.5tds sw frontera on a r plate (98) with fss and 84000 miles, can ayone give any advice on what are the good and bad points as regards this model as im looking at one on Monday.

Hi and welcome.
The 2.5 is a good powerful engine, a new veersion of the ones used in the Disco.
It very elctical, fly by wire ect.
Try and get as much history as you can, give it a good test drive up to motorway speeds, if the eml light comes on walk away.
Remember its only part time 4wd so no centre diff, avoid 4wd on tarmac ect, try on gravel (you most likely know that).
Rust isnt an issue on the Fronteras at this age so it should be fine, other than that just all the usual checks
