Newbie with a dash problem

Hi Alan from East Kilbride here, own a 2004 Olympus swb from new previously a '94 swb. Car is now well out of warranty so i'll be maintaing it from now on. First problem, the digital display on the dash showing mileage has gone dull, its still there and still works but can hardly see it. Anybody got any ideas???
