Hi everyone and thanks for the welcome.

I've really enjoyed reading the technical posts. I'm a professional electronics engineer and was really impressed by the discovery of the broken track on the dash posts - those things are bloody hard to find. I was drawn to the topic initially because I had been considering the purchase of another second-hand Frontera with exactly that fault on it - side lights had to be left on for the rev counter to work!

Fortunately the car I bought has no electrical faults (so far) so I'm glad I've saved myself a dash removal..

Hi AnneMarie, do you or Carl know of any decent garages out in Wales? coz the ones here in West London take the living piddles..

Looks like I'll be doing it on my own on this car too.. only a mug would pay the prices I'm being quoted by these Vauhall Dealers!
