Hello New member from Norwich.

Hi everyone i'm new to this. Have a Frontera 2.2 5dr estate. anyone ever had problem with engine management system? any help would be grateful. have been told parts needed are rare.

yes you are correct ..2.2 petrol (i'm assuming) parts are getting like rocking horse poo to find ...

if my memory serves me right ...."wilberforce" has a similer problem with his 2.2 5 door

thanks red oktober, only had three weeks and its been in garage 7 weeks. they've finally said new engine management unit. garage trying to get part as vauxhall can't get part (s). just want her back, as want to go off roading with kids.

on here somewhere is a link where you can have the ecu's tested...but i can't find it :oops:

are there any other symptoms that we may be able to pin point

Long story short, broke down and had to have new cambelt/timing belt changed, plus head gasket sorted. then she was misfiring changed whatever part vauxhall told them to change still misfiring. So garage took it to local vauxhall dealer. which they finally sorted 2 weeks ago, but EMU was still flashing took a week for vauxhall to check wiring and say EMU needs replacing.

And on hols next week with a naff Loan car, which runs out of tax on tuesday so all in all not pleased.

She's a petrol engine if this helps.

could it be broken exhaust manifold

from what garage/vauxhall have said traced wiring (whatever that means). and the ecu is at fault needs replacing.
