Hi, I'm new to the world of frontera's.

Hi,. let me start by saying this a great website, i've only had my frontera a week and am already pulling my hair out. Have been reading some of the postings on here and i think they have helped me loads, i have two problems really, the first is the eml coming on at around 3500rpm in third gear or around the 69mph mark, not too sure which one is significant. removed the egr and the rocker top and you would not believe the state of it, it was so badly coked up that the butterfly valve's were bent. have sorted that out and its runnihng alot better although i still have this eml problem and the car going into limp home mode, have ordered a new mass air flow meter to try to sort it out. have checked the vacuum pipes and they look ok. i may change them anyway just to make sure, my other problem is the four wheel drive will not engage. the light just flashes fast (altho i can hear a relay clicking from the centre console). have only found 2 air pipes on the gear box which look to be ok, is this right? any help with either problem would be greatly appreciated. thanks ps. sorry for the massive email. :?:

Which frony have you, also if you post your location someone near by may have a code reader available.

Sounds like you’re running a frontera ‘B’ you should also have some vac pipes to check on the front axel.

hi, thanks for the replys. its a frontera b as guessed, 2.2 dti on a 99 t lwb. i'm in barnstaple in north devon. have checked pipes on front axle and cut off some split ends but i've not changed any which is on the agender. doe's it sound like i'm on the right path? cheers
