After a chat today on the beach we decided it might be a nice idea (weather permitting) to arrange a meet on the Beach a bit further up at Southport and attend the Southport Air Show this year. I figure the Sunday 9th September will be best of the two day event as the Vulcan Bomber is flying that day Here are the details and ticket prices, you can drive straight onto the beach and watch from your car and have a picnic. http://www.visitsouthport.com/whats-on/air-show/To get all the cars together we would need to meet early, though if its a long way and you bring a more fuel efficient car rather than the Frontera that would be fine, just make sure we can tell who you are Anyway, I am going (if its not piddling down)

I've been advised that round 5 of the BCCC is that weekend - I'm tempted to do just one day with them (in Wales) then pop up to the airshow on Sunday (weather permitting).
Anyone else fancy joining us ?

cant make that one, but if you havent yet seen the Vulcan you just got to go.
Went to Wings N Wheels at Dusnfold last weekend and 1 of the displays was the Vulcan, they also said that this year could be its last year of flying, so see it now....

Weather (currently) looks to be excellent on the Sunday.
Come on Ste, what sort of plans do you have in mind ?
Meet at yours at 08:00 for a bacon butty and a brew? , or somewhere on the beach for 09:00 - anywhere in particular on the beach (to the left, right)?

I love ya too, but the Vulcan is on the Sunday Right, the Beach car park is open from 09.00 on the Sunday. I am thinking as most of the attractions for the show are near the pier the queues to enter there could be long and a pain, so I propose to go to the pay gate further down the beach at Weld Road (See Link) for 0.900 http://www.visitsouthport.com/dbimgs/Ai ... 283%29.pdfWe could turn right and drive along the beach (about a mile) to get closer to the pier. And keep our CB's on channel 8. We would all need to get there for 09.00 though to stand any chance of parking together. We are pre booking our tickets online to save a few Bob
