French Trip :- MILLE RIVIERES 2009

Postby optima on Fri Dec 05, 2008 11:59 pm

Hi All

Well I'm planning on doing the Mille Rivieres off road trip which is 3 days of off roading through central France they provide road books for each day and I believe in the 3 days we should cover around 500km of roads and lanes.

Costs to enter are in the application form in the link below, the form was for the 2008 trip which has just been completed.

http://www.grands-randonneurs-motorises.com/telechargement/MR08-uk.pdf

Pictues from 2006 are in this link

http://www.grands-randonneurs-motorises.com/media/mille_rive2006/page_01.htm

So if anyone wants to join in that would be cool but I would say you will need recovery ropes, MT tires, good recovery points front and back and a winch would be a good idea oh and you don't mind scratches down both sides...

Also I'm planning in the long term to go back and to the Croisiere Blanche maybe around Jan 2011 and thats for the snow lovers..

Hi Mate

you wanted the pics well here they are :) :)

As for the costs well I spread the cost over a year putting in a small amount each month so over time you don't really notice it to much as you only have to pay the first 100 euro's possible by April / May then the rest when you sign in which is in November which is 11 months away..

I'm lucky as I have a friend who pays half the costs, so find a good friend :) :)

Hi

The price on the application form is just for entering.

Extra will include the following

1) equipment required
2) Ferry costs
3) Fuel costs
4) hotel costs for trip down and up also the Mille Riviers is a traveling trip so they will provide Hotels along the way for the 3 days which will need to be paided for as extras.
5) Meals although if you pay the extra lunch cost in the application form they will provide a 3 course lunch for the three days.
