More good news... my 6 month old LCD screen still works (pluged into laptop.

More bad news... looks like the on-board video card is fried - hopefully I can fit an old AGP in and use that.

Nah, don't think so... as I'm using it now.

I have a couple of spare AGB2 cards, but the PC is AGP4 - so I'm using a very old PCI VGA card, running in safe mode.

At least I've found the problem and can arrange to get a replacement board when I return in a weeks time.

Ho hum

Fortunately, the MB as a 3 year warentee on it, and I only bought it just before Christmas :D
