Beginners/First Timers laning trip (Wales)

I appear to have a free month of weekends in July (from an otherwise packed motorsporting calendar)

If you are relatively new to this forum and have not yet been laning, perhaps you would like to be lead by myself, an experienced laner and researcher/organiser of trips, sometime during the month of July.

Following the Green Lane Associations' guidelines, the group size will not exceed 4 vehicle, so with myself leading, that leaves 3 places available.

I have a route in mind that will take in Sarn Helen (Coed y Brenin), the gated Bala road, the Corwen Carwash if you want to give it a go, the Wayfarer and possibly White Stones - that should be a good day out. It will be a full day, starting at around 10am and finishing (I guess) at about 6pm. There will be plenty of stops for photos and of course coffee breaks.

There will be no cost to take part, other than your own fuel/food expenses.

Places available on a first come first served basis. Feel free to comment below.

Vote for your preferred weekend and I'll go with the majority.

Edit: Just to add that the lanes I have in mind are suitable for standard Fronteras (ie standard suspension) and while MT or AT tyres are not necessarily necessary (!!), a good depth of tread would be preferrable.

Wow, id really like to go on this one,but unfortunatly i can not commit, due to parents in laws coming over from bulgaria. :cry:

I could maybe do to have a day or two away for a bit of peace (I have the feeling its going to be a loud month)

Oh well, if you decide to do one in august, i got nearly the full month off on holiday.

While I desperately want to go laning with Trugga in Wales I realise that this is an idea for beginner laning.

So on that note, if there is any OVERFLOW of people who want to go out for their first or second time laning and they can't go because Trugga's limit has been reached I'll put my hand up and say that I'm more than happy to take a few vehicles (again maximum of 4 including mine) out for a days laning around Hampshire!

i would love to come, only had my fronty,3 months now, and would love to learn all about her, would be greatful, if you could let me know, when you have decided on the amount you can accomodate, and who will go, so i can book the time time off.

I'm pleased to see interest has picked up on this idea for a beginners Green Lane Trip - so much so that I think I will run 2 in the month of July. From the results of the Poll, one will be run on Sat 28th July, the other two weeks earlier on Sat 14th July.

As a Green Lane Association member, I will not lead a group of more than 4 vehicles, so with that in mind we need to sort ourselves into 2 groups of 3 (I'll be the 4th vehicle in each group)

Could the "Virgin Laners" post back on their preferred date (first come, first served regarding the date) then we'll fin in any spare places on a first come first served basis with the "Been Before's"

I am thinking of actually running the Ceriog Trail route, with a few amendments (due to closures), which will start in Corwen (10 miles west of Llangollen) and finish at Chirk - this route will be less than 40 miles but will take us all day. You will have the opportunity to drive the "Corwen Car wash" if you want to.

I still beleive this route is suitable for beginners and to add peice of mind I will make a point to stop at various sections and discus with you haw best to drive them. The day will be free (I do not charge), but you would of course be free to make a donation to FOG for the upkeep of this forum.

sounds like what im looking for, but saturday is impossible for me, im in retail and sat is the worst day of the week.

if u ever get a bigginers day for sunday or something, count me in all the way, and i would also make donation to fog.
