Some lanes around Ely, Cambridgeshire

I got bord today so I went out for a cheaky laning trip, tryed out a few lanes Ive not done before. Very tame, bar one tight tunnel lol - I got the tape mesure out to see if the truck would fit lol, it had a few inches either side so I went for it!

Heres a selection of the pics I took:

lol, I mesured mine and it needed 76 inches side to side to get through (I think) and the tunnel was about 85 inches wide, and at the end it had a small step up, so I had to rub the drivers side tyres on the wall in order not to take out the passenger wing mirror (hence why the drivers side is closer in the pic :P) - it was a fun and unexpected challenge! :D. Thats also why I dont really want a roof mounted CB whip :/

lol jason, I would worry about ur roof rack! if it fits under multi story car park height limiters then you might make it, but thats only on the fact that the tip of my radio aerial hits most multi story height limiters and it didnt touch the top of the tunnel.

I wouldn't fit in that tunnel ... too tall. I have an extra 7" of height due to the high roof mod. Nice pictures and lanes though.

mmmmm, lol, well my Frontera and the Pajero did but the Disco had to go up through the two gates. Yeah, we are here but It's only a small club. It's mainly been family and connections.

Not really, we did have a web-site but a former member kinda messed it up as far as I recall.

We have a group on facebook, Cambridgeshire 4x4z. Heres the link buddy ......http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/grou ... 3608905721

....were always looking to expand as a club. More the merrier!!! :D I'm the gent with the Blue Frontera

Yup we went to violets lane on the 29/05/2011.

If you look on youtube theres a few vids on there. When we went, there was only a few patches of deep water, enough to still get stuck but not like the youtube hit.

Yeah, thats the one in Duxford mate. You part of a club around Cambridge way????

Its the longest in Britain Dan, half mile of varying depths depending on season and rainfall.

Me, zebadee and gibbo did it 2 years ago in the autumn in the dark. I had to use the rooflights as my heads and spots were about 6 inches below water. proper sqeaky bum time and scared me that i aint been back since lol
