Green Laning Around Thetford Forest and Review

I'm gauging interest in some green laning around thetford forest sometime soon. I have never done them, nor have I even seen them, so I dont really know much about them. I have selected some lanes that look to be good, and when I made it they were all clear of TROs, but will check again nearer the date.

I think I have around 3 or 4 hours worth of lanes planned out (avg speed of 5mph)....but if anyone can send me a MM overlay of some good lanes around there then even better!

Anyone interested in a day out? Would be great if a hardened lane'r or 2 could attend (bobbinsjob) to show us (me) how its done, and pull me out if I get stuck lol. On the other hand, a group of newbies and some rope could be a good laugh lol.

No dates in mind yet, as I say just gauging interest.

Its not that far from me .. about an hour or so. Would be interested for sure.

i would defo be up for it, since i am in the middle of moving back to lowestoft.

now after looking it is the front diff

wow...I wasnt expecting this much interest this fast lol. Well depending if fudge can get his front diff changed before we go we either have 1 or 2 more places left.

When can you guys go? I cant do this weekend or the 27th...but other than that Im open.

Would love to join you boys some time. Come from Ipswich so only just down the road. Not done much off roading but never one to refuse a challenge.

i need to look at my diff, and need to finish moving as well.

so once im bk at my parents i am removing the diff and tank, ohh the fun

how would the 19th or 20th sound?? And does anyone have any ropes/shackels etc? I dont :oops:

if it is the 19/20th i can come, but wont have a woking front diff.
so if anyone is happy i can hitch a lift, and i have a few shackles, 2t hand wintch, and loads of straps

you could try it in 2wd lol. but thats probably not a very good idea. there will be a few seats in mine and I'm sure others will have spair seats too.

Will double chack with the diary (wife) if we are free. I am only stock but still have 4wd. If Fudge can make it to Norwich I will have a spare seat.

also, do you lot have a preferance to what day, ie sat (19th) or sun(20th)?

I guess I better try and get my 4wd to engage without the use of a hammer lol might get a little anoying otherwise.

Can make either day if I grovel to her indoors nicely.

Shame I cant make 19th,20th. I would love to do the forests again. Me, Gibbo and Zebadee did them a few years back. If you go again let me know.

Oh either day is fine but Saturday would be preferable in case emergency repairs needed Sunday to use her to get to work Monday !!
