Greenlaning Day - Wales - 02-08-08

Well, a phone call from Goldfinder last week prompted an impromptu laning day around North Wales taking in The Lost Lake, the Wayfarer and Whitestones. There was more planned hoping to do the Happy valley and some other tracks local to me but time was pressing on and the distances involved were substantial. Thanks to Graeme for organising the invites and thinking of me when he wanted to visit Wales. Thanks to Alex and Spencer for doing rear-guard gate duty (again) and thanks to Ryan and Karen for just being there

Started off from my house to meet the others at 9.30am in the car park at Corwen. I thought it was going to be a miserable day when we left but as we drew closer to Corwen the sky brightened up and the clouds fled. It was at that point that I realised I had left my twig at home and so would be leading the group in silence (Bliss I tell you :wink:

). At one point Graeme started inventing CB friends cause we weren't good enough and then he had the cheek to try and convince us he was talking to Trugga! Who we found out later was actually laning in the same area. Hope you had a good day too Lawrence.

The general consensus is that its a bit too hard and doesn't compress enough. He did say its quite a firm ride now but it may yet bed in and settle a bit. To be honest with you bout the pics it is kind of hard not to take a good picture given the lighting conditions and the scenery.

Who needs to go hiking in the Swiss alps when we have this green and very much pleasant land right on our door step. :dance:

Great pics Phil, think you missed your calling. Weired seing yourself on vid too. Was a great day, great lanes back to Mac as well. Just need to give the missus another marble to keep the one rattling round in her head company.

Ha, yup, the route back was definitely interesting. I kept checking the compass wondering where the hell we were going. That road that was blocked off must have added a few miles to the journey and then my Tomtom got stuck in shortest route mode. Never been that way before and to be honest with you I have started to hate that Shrewsbury road since Iv driven it so many times over the years. You drive forever and never seem to get any closer to your destination.
