Beginners and experienced Greenlanes Longmynd 28th June

sorry for letting you guys and girls down,its been a tough few weeks trying to get this swb up to spec for my holidays and this laning trip,so after fitting new brake pipes suspension bushes,fixing fuel leaks and squeeks and rattles,in the end ive just threw the towel in and sold it,so trusty rusty is making a come back unfortunatly i cant tax it till the end of the month :cry:

Dont beat your self up mate things happen would have been nice to meet you but im sure there will be other meets, we'll have a drink for you :wink:

well for all you newbies going i can tell you that you are going to love it,alex is a well informed bloke,hope there is loads of photos and vids to look forward to :mrgreen:

If Manny can get a copilot were laughing, if not we can look into a few other options like splitting some of the other experienced lot into another day, either the Sunday or the following week. Dont want to, but need to keep priority to the new guys and try to give everyone else a good day out too.
Also dont want to loose site of the Wales side and obviously those who are coming from afar or have already commited to hotels etc will get priority.

Going to be a fun day or two until everyone is sorted, so lets not all get too twitchy as we may still be able to get the full outing as planned.

Goes without saying, dark days as it looks like the outing will be lead mostly by Land rovers, Dave, come back all is forgiven...

Been busy, crisis happening back in Dublin I had to attend. All sorted now thank goodness. But a word of warning to all male members, dont forget to have a good rummage in your underpants for any strange or unusual lumps. If you do find any have them checked out straight away or you may end up with a bionic testicle.

Anyways, im offering my services as an auxilliary leader. I only got back 2 days ago and havent had time to fit the new diff yet, but will be working hard this week to get it sorted.

Il keep folks updated on my progress. But I have a sneaky suspicion Il be cutting it really really fine

In which case I wont have time for a reccy and would probably fail the group as a leader and be burned at the stake for pretending to be a witch

Ok just pooling the options.

1. Manny, seen the lay of the land, so best option.
2. If Manny cant get a repacement Ryan has offered, along with John. Neither have run the route, but both experienced. I think I laned with John back last year, but know first hand Ryans capabilities and vehicles, so would be very hppy with Ryan leading.

Looks like were starting to get some cover here, whew, thanks for all the pm's folks, and the encouragements, this event will go forward.

I'm willing to follow anyone to be honest Alex.... I'm sure that with the experinced groups they should be able between them to work the right routes out

oh yeah, the wabbit. I almost forgot, was hoping you had too. unfortunately the weather doesnt look likes its gonna settle down enough for me to fit the darn diff.

Was a big ask for a weekend, mind you some have done it in a day. Mine was a first and took some while, I could do another much more quickly. Its the time spent getting the ball joints split and cv's off that tolls, bet your glad them tops are flipped. If the bottom bolts come out decent your heads infront.

Just a suggestion, get some new prop bolts first.

as im on another laning trip in the peaks on the sunday

Ayup that would be joy but i have a very understanding misses that also enjoys laning

and a 3 year old son that loves laning more than me

so will be doing a gental trip around the peaks on the sunday i would like them to come on the 28th but its going to be a long day

Oh oh, someones busted....

mart, dropped routes off with Fuddy, will do same for Wales and give you on the day.

Ayup anyone is welcome but it wont be a normal laning day we will be stoping for picnics

and at shops

and maybe a pub

maybe a strole around nine ladys in stanton in the peak or chatsworth house if the wether is good just a casaul day out with a few gental lanes
