drive out

i went for a drive as i got bored being sat indoors, and i found quite a few greenlanes on my doorstep, its amazing what you can find via a few unused country lanes anyway heres the pics

some quite nice lanes i've found there, as far as i know none have tro's so are legal to drive :wink:

it was mate suffered a few scratches nothing major! t-cut'll sort it out though

I've found another lane near me but i won't do it alone, i've asked a mate of mine to come along and do it tonight, so there'll be more pics of the B.R.B doing what he does best

oh they are mat but i've just been told one is on a tro but there were no signs pointing that out, i checked the way finder website and theres no record of this lane its the 5th 6th and 7th photos i took its been downgraded to a bridleway apparently according to my mate, the one we were suppose to go to tonight again is a bridleway

hi richard the lane i drove onto was a boat, it was marked as a public bridleway but had many vehicle track going up to it, i'd checked the wayfinder but found no record of this lane, i spoke to my local ROW officer and he agreed with me that it would be ok to drive that lane, it was a mate of mine who pointed out that the lane was posted as a bridleway (sorry i was not more informative in my last post) plus i filled out a form and dropped it off at the council offices to show that the lane has no damage sustained by my travels on the day, i can understand your cause for alarm richard but don't worry mate, the signpost i put a picture up of showed two footpaths and a bridleway, the bridleway was the one i had travelled up, i'd done everything by the book that day just so there would be no problems via the council or otherwise :wink:

plus if you were on about this one

thats a greenlane heading up to a public footpath it takes you up towards foulridge sailing club :wink:

Ahh, sorry about that, perhaps I was a bit hasty to judge you!

Incorrect signage is a problem in plenty of counties and it just serves to confuse people. Trouble is, even when your in the right as you obviously were there other people will see the photos (or will actually see you on the lane) and assume the sign must be right.

Of course it's the authorities job sort that out, perhaps you should report it to them. Most authorities welcome this kind of input from the public as they make mistakes like anyone else and wont neccessarily know about it unless someone reports it.
