Brecon and The Gap

Went out today with my m8 Jase, just me and the kids in the Fronty and Jase in his Lada Niva.

Jase had never done The Gap so we headed off there first and then took in a few lanes around Brecon. Found a little cracker, not very long but it was very interesting and also had a little Ford, only got picks of the Lada so far, when Jase gets his finger out and gets his online will share here

This is one of my fave bits, the view is stunning, far better than my poor attempts at photography can convey

The ford, the next part of the lane was very scratchy, and had a few extreme lean angles but could not get out to take any shots as it was too tight

Am planning on doing a night run across The Gap with a few peeps, probably over the Easter weekend :dance:

Unfortunatley, the Gap Road was lost to motorised vehucular traffic when the NERC Act came in as Law in Wales.

Even though the TRO notices are in place, technically, anyone caught driving that lane could be liable for prosecution.

Some people say you can drive it, others say you can't. If you do drive it, it is your responcibility to prove you were legally entitled to do so.

Nice lane though.

Oh bugger, I was looking forward to the gap, have been since I heard of it a couple of years ago and was saving it for a special occasion for when I moved to Wales.

I know, I've read through many of the discussions to try and find enough information to warrant the risk, but as you suggest, even the LA or BNP don't know the answer.

The Gap road, according to the OS maps is a Restricted Byway which means it is out of bounds to motorised vehicles (I can't recall of the top of my head what is is on the LoS or DM, but the only advice I can offer, as I said before, is "If you do drive it, it is your responcibility to prove you were legally entitled to do so."
