Your Favorite Green Lane & Why

Just been looking through a load of old pics and videos of green lanes i driven over the years And though it would be nice to get everyone's thoughts on there favorite Green lane and why.
I have driven loads of lanes over the years and when i sat down and thought about it i found very hard to choose a favorite
Anyway after a lot of thought i would say that basssstard lane near machynlleth is one of my favorites.
It is very tight and scratchy with real deep ruts having a rock face drop at the end dropping in to a stream. The lane it self is great to drive but it also holds sentimental value as i have driven it with great friends over the years and been stuck on the lane for many hours too

Ive got to admit, i really enjoyed that lane to mate, its just difficult enough to be loadsa fun(weather depending ) and defo one of, if not the best ive ever done Next time were goin up it tho arnt we!!

Well to be honnest, I have no idea where I was for most of the trip, however this one was scary..!

Every green lane is my favourite

But a the classics like the Wayfarer may not be technical (in summer) but its long and stunning

A cracking though easy lane overlooking Barmouth above Dolgellau
This lane if timed right will give a spectacular sun set over the Irish sea.




The Gap Road is a classic too

First payday in my new job in four weeks and I am out

I don't know the name of it if it's got one but when we did strata on the Saturday the muddy lane with the big puddles and the big camber round a corner one.
I'll find the pics when I get on he pc

I'm probably fortunate that with my motorsport marshalling hobby, I quite often get to drive some "interesting" terrain, therefore my list of favourite lanes are less technical and more scenic.





The Barmouth low and high road is a relatively easy drive and can with care be driven solo. Affording some fantastic views, these lanes are not too far away from my favourite camp site.



The Gap Road will remain a favourite. Yes, there are a couple of technical sections, but I also recall the people I've shared the lane with. I was also fortunate to drive this lane before the NERC Act diminished any vehicle ROW upon it.



Rudland Rigg on the North Yorkshire Moors. The 10 mile lane starts out a little tricky, but this is just a nice place to be on a sunny day.



White Stones. Often used on the beginners laning trips, these side slopes always brings out the chatter (and the cameras), reminding me of when I first experienced them.



The Wayfarer. One of the first lanes I ever drove, and one I keep returning to. 5 miles of near unspoilt Welsh wilderness.

The HAPPY VALLEY lane we did last Wales trip was also quite a good lane, long and i assume brilliant views at some points but the cloud ruined that for us
Really enjoyed the strata trip too, couple of great lanes on there, and up the peak there are several lanes i really enjoy doing Its such a hard choice!!
