Gawxo's Farm Chester

I was invited to help clear some tracks at farm near Chester and Trugga came along to help to.
Also Paul in the Diatshu (spelling) And Winchman and Andy in the suzuki.

John (the farmer) would like to get the site up and running for clubs and groups on a commercial basis, but he is not going down the turn up pay and play route.
The site has evey thing from extreme wading trenches/pools to more gentle bumps and dips, though these still need some carefull thought to negotiate.
Theres are a forest tracks and meadows, abd a few hilly sections.
John has plans to get the digger out and make a few more sections in the field.
We only saw a fraction of what was on offer.
He is also arranging a camping field and hard standing car park.
The site is fantastic and has one heck of alot of potential and its the biggest site Ive seen or even heard of.

And the host John is very friendly and welcoming and is one of a kind, great guy.

Just a few pics of today, though these dont even come close to what we saw today and there was more.

An absolutely cracking site, owned by a man that has too much energy

I think we got to play in three of the many sections.

The first was a compact route, with lots of twists and turns, ups and downs, side slopes and a few water splashes. Whilst the LWB Fronteras had to shuffle around a couple of the corners, it really was a great little trek, with minimum opportunity for damage.

The second section was in the woods (on of about 5 woods on the property, maybe more). The closeness of the trees really did make you think, especially regarding length, overhang and turning circle.

The third section we looked at was a little more extreme, and while Ste and I gave parts of it a go (and managed OK I might add), there are bits I would avoid - but hey, I don't do extreme, but if I had a £300 Zuke with a cage, then I would be very tempted :wink:

Obviosly, the fields were a little flooded where the camsite is envisaged for, but with easy access off the motorway network, this site has a lot of potential.

My feeling is that there is a lot there that would suit a Frontera, but there is a lot more that would not - that said, we only got to see a small few sections of a huge tract of land. Maybe a second vist would reveal more.

BTW, the mud pongs a little, and ponged even more when it dries on your boots in the car on the way home.

The swb frontera would be really well suited to this site, not much they couldnt do without a lift and decent tyres.

But as it gets opened up I think more will be accesible to the bigger cars, though I will be leaving the water runs alone :lol:

Ooo, I must say a thank you to the guy in the blue zebra stiped zuke for taking me on a white knucle ride round some of the more extreme sections - I have it on video.
