SCOTTISH Meet and greet

Re: SCOTTISH Meet and greet

I think to be fair, when I asked last year, there was so little time to get it organised because I asked a bit late. People did say "Go for it" though, so thats why I asked this time round.
If things had gone right for me the day before Stu's attempt, I would have gone to his.
He knows though that it was depending on a job being completed the day before. Which unfortunately didnt happen, and we had to work the day of the meet.
I was annoyed because I was looking forward to it.
I still want to do the Dukes path though, camera at the ready.
We should all discuss the way forward for meetings at the show on the 4th. Seeing as there will be lots of us there, and we will have the whole day to talk it over.
Cant wait now.
Regards, Keith.

How about 1 meet per year.
4 prizes:-
Mad and muddy class... Most Mud.....&.... Most Trashed
Clean and Cute class....Best Outside....&.......Best Inside
Or 2 meets per year one Mad & Muddy in a pay and play
and the Clean & Cute one on forestry tracks or at the seaside.
That way the two extremes get their own meet and all the rest get two.
Personally I would have the judging in the local town with lunch in the village hall so that the locals see all the Fronteras lined up.
Youse could even let the locals judge like they do at concours events where the public get a bit of paper and just put the Reg No. in the space.

Over here it happens all the time. Every time there's a Fete the local council pay for a meal for all the car enthusiasts or Horse Driven Stuff or military re-enactment or or or clubs who sign up.
Twice this year I've had a Sunday afternoon procession of classic cars drive past the end of the lane (drinks and deckchairs job) 'cos they all want to be photoed in front of the neighbours Chateau.
Then of course there is the 2Km straight bit through the forest and out into the open that they hoof it on. Them Ferraris and Iso Griffos .... when they howl. Mind you a Cobra giving it laldy into the distance don't half prickle the back of the neck.
Last one,3 weeks ago, was for a , can't remember the name of it, charity and there were 199 classic cars; 4 hours of it.
If the Farmyard Obstacle had been mobile I could have made it 200 Classics.
Or you could just copy Bala, it works.
If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.

hey vaux,
yeh that trip was my first time out to see what offroading is all about, was a great day and i was truely hooked after that, took me a while to get my own jeep though.
i noticed in the box under your avitar that you've done a fair bit too your fronty, no more snow chains for playing in the mud then ? :D
newtonhill hill is a good wee site, handy for me too as it's only 15mins away
i've been over twice since i built mine but its a bit boring offroading on your own lol

Hi CityKid, read the above list of members and wondered if a meet has been arranged for the near future early 2011. I am aware Dave from Fife had raised a thread last week proposing a Scotland area meet in the summer of 2011, is this the same thing? Regards David.

Big Dav,as far as I know this isnt to do with what I was trying to sort out for the summer 2011. If you go to page 1 on this thread you will see that this was started on March 25th 2010.

Hi Dave, yep, saw it was a geriatric thread and thought it coincidental to your new thread last week. Will wait and see what happens. David.

As above. Last year we decided to make our annual (non off road) meet, the classic car show at Bridge of Allan.
This is to get as many Scottish members together for a BBQ, a laugh, and to show off our cars.
I am happy to keep organising this, if someone else would care to take on the organisatiuon of the off road meetings.
Regards, Keith.
