great idea i had a look at the google link brillant .is the 9th of may a go. dukes pass is only a couple hours from me in fife anyone else in fife going we could have a convoy from fife on the way.

Think i should be able to make that weekend, unless i have to go offshore

so could we get some confirmed details of where to meet and where we are going? :mrgreen:

also as i have only got my fronty is there tips on anything i should bring other than myself and my car?

Erm what ever you want it just a light drive on an unsurfaced road nothing heavy or damaging just to give us scottish members a chance to meet and hopefully get a regular thing going .

Can those who want to have a meet put in date`s in may that suit them by looks of it this meet is not going to happen

I'm still interested in meeting up, trouble is, we've now got 3 lambs to bottle feed plus the rest of the newbies to keep an eye on. The bottle lambs obviously can't be left toooo long without grub, so an away day isn't an option just yet. Don't let this stop the rest of you though - unless you can wait til say, June some time?

I had to track down a farmer yesterday the fields behind me some lambs and a shep with a blue 43 on it had escaped on the back road i had to find the farm was not much fun in the focus on a farm road any way chapped the door an a pretty farm woman answered an i informed her of the sheep and she said yes thats ours what field / "the big green one with sheep it" came to mind but i figured sarcasim would not help anyway directions were given.

I would like to have a scottish meet but seems getting a definate date request has fell on deaf ears

I got a reply from the forest people didnt think they had internet in tree`s but there you go anyway as follows

Mr Watson,

Thank you for yor enquiry. We had to delay the opening the Forest Drive due to some windblown trees which occurred early March and the road required mechanical repair work that had to be rectified since the Scottish rally passed through the route. The frosts and snow earlier in the year also delayed this planned work.

I am pleased to say that the "forest road grader" is due to complete his work this afternoon, and we will be updating our website accordingly to show that the drive is open this weekend. Should you have any further concerns about the accessability of the Forest drive please contact the staff at the David Marshall Lodge (01877382 258) who will have the most up to date information, should the Drive have to be closed for any reason in the future.

Big cheers for "Drinksy". It is hard work trying to arrange a meet when you guys have such busy lives and the Forestry want to move all the fallen trees and smooth the track out which takes the fun out of it.
Hope you all get it happening.
Looks like it's going to be Sunday the 9th of May, put it in your book and be there or spend the day thinking... If only.
If there happens to be a little fir tree lying across the road, be brave and try 4wd. If you meet a bit of mud try 4wd low. If you meet something you can't get over or round then head for the nearest Pub.
Just don't wimp out and miss the chance of meeting other folks who will help you keep your Fronty rolling and help you save money doing it.
You don't know what you don't know until you meet someone who knows what you need to know.

I love the "road grader" bit
I would bring plenty of fuel just in case a camera or phone so we can stop and get some photo`s of us and the scenery and if anybody has any illness or conditions they feel we should know about ......just in case.
its up to each person to make sure thier vehicle is road worthy etc and its their responsiblity to take thier vehicle on the drive.i have never been an know not of the conditions so its your choice if you take you truck and all damage etc is not my responsibility.Far as i know this should be an easy drive with no reason for damage to vehicles its not a offroad track so standard trucks will be fine it is used by lumber trucks, horse rider,cyclist and people on foot so give way ,other than that im looking forward to this an hope we get a few names and if we don`t so what its a start .

on a side note drinksoptional i used to arranged rideouts for a biker website i used to run years ago, i found if you keep asking everyone what dates are ok then you will never get anything arranged, pick a date well in advance, say a month/6 weeks, and let everyone know via a blanket PM, and ask them to stick names down, you can then get all the interested parties to talk about venue's/routes etc

lol yeah i go a round about way sometime my brain thinks out loud i had chose the 9th an got some intrest i just want to confirm, I learned for next time an all input helps the first time is always the hardest once we get some chat and pictures up it will generate intrest yeah keep your input coming its up to all of us to sort the meets
