Excuse my ignorance but we don't have Vauxhall in the United States. Yesterday someone submitted it to my website as an ugly car. I don't think it's ugly though. My questions is this: Is the Frontera considered an ugly car in the UK much like the PT Cruiser is often called ugly in the United States? The is the Frontera that was submitted: http://uglycarpictures.com/ugly-vauxhall-frontera/

The A Series is a bit of an old fashioned agricultural ugly old lump but the later A Series was a better looking bit of kit. Both are a poor mans excuse for a proper 4x4. I'll get my coat.

It all depends on the person viewing!! I love the way an a series looks and really don't like the B series for looks admitidley the B is nicer to drive. I just like them a little rougher looking!!

Age related, for the Short Wheel 3 door version, the Isuzu Amigo can be viewed for body style comparison. For the Long Wheel 5 door version then look at the Isuzu Rodeo. Somewhere in the equation the name Wizard pops up but this may have been for the Japanese home market. It's all about General Motors owning both Vauxhall for the UK market and Isuzu which we know was originally Japanese. Apparently when GM wanted to launch a 4x4 in the UK they utilised the design of the already launched Isuzu options but used some home manufactured components and in certain cases global components.

Look up Isuzu Rodeo .. that was the original look and widely available in the US The Frontera in your link was chopped up pretty badly and used in Top Gear by Jeremy Clarkson.

Ugly is this conversaion - its not an original one which pops up in the above stated link!
Someone has cut the middle roof section, left of the hardtop and put in some useless tyres in my opinion!
Kind regards, Ian Sorry for my pigeonenglish. My doctor says I have to invest time in SPORT

Well, I saw one once in an episode of series 10 ER. As to myself , I still really like the rugged shape of the A Series long wheel base especially with an uncovered spare wheel and tyre on the back. I have a 2.5. which has an A Series body but a facelift dash which I don't like nearly as much as the older style shelf dash and wonderful clunky switches. I don't like the B series shape as much, but would put up with a 3.2 running on propane!
