Another one bites the dust

My beloved immaculate Fronty ended up in a bad way on Tuesday, really gutted and feeling really stupid.
It was once said that the Devil would never dare to cross the River Tamar into Cornwall for fear of ending up as a filling in a Cornish Pasty.

Just a cut arm thanks, probably a bit lucky. HGV appeared just when you don't expect it in our country lanes, instinct caused me to brake and as it was a bit damp, locked and went straight up the bank, before any chance to take foot off brakes.

Glad your alright westo and got out of it virtually unscathed.
Although very beautiful when in full bloom, some of them deep/high sided Cornish roads have a nasty side.
Remember having a very near head on near miss when pulling out of a hidden layby a few years back. Somebody in the approaching traffic decided to overtake as he was nearing the hidden layby just as I was pulling out. How he missed me I will never know.

Looks like the front section of the roof came in during your adventure up the bank mate, that could have been so nasty.
Still, the truck can always get replaced and thankfully you walked away from it. With luck like that I'd be buying a lottery ticket!

This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered
)

Owning a 2.8 is a hobby in it's self...

Glad no-one was hurt.., trucks can be replaced.
Reminded me of an accident a few years ago, I was a passenger in a classic Range Rover driving through similar country lanes when at the last moment an MX5 came steaming round a bend.. Luckily the driver saw them and went up the bank, luckily for us we didn't roll.. But the MX5 swerved and went up the other side bank, left the road and went vertical before coming back to ground with a bang and sliding 100 yards on its drivers side...over a T junction into a wall.
Driver was shaken but not injured.
I am just so glad that they didn't hit us at all as the rock sliders would have put them squarely underneath us and that would have been really messy
