How to do an oil change the easy way on your Frontera

Hi admin/mods.

Could you make my post as a how to do please.

Are you like me fed up of getting underneath your Frontera to do an oil change, here is a very easy way to do that.



Step 1,buy a 12v oil and diesel transfer pump, I got mine from MachineMart cost £29.99.



Step 2,Insert the inlet tube into the dipstick tube until it won't go any further.



Step 3,Place the pump somewhere so that it doesn't slide off.



Step 4,Insert the outlet hose into a suitable container and connect the power cables to your battery then switch the pump on.

As you can see this was the only container I had but it worked and as you can, your able to see the dirty oil.

You can also use this pump to put fresh oil into your engine and its just a reversal or taking old oily out of your engine.

Like it - similar new pumps can be got for £16 on fleabay buy it now including free P&P - how long they last is anybody's guess. Got mine for under £12 total but I had to win it on an open auction. They do short term auctions starting at £1 with £9 P&P

Yeah i got one off ebay a while ago as i have trouble lying down now.

I got it because we moved house before Christmas and I don't have a slabbed driveway now and I also have a slipped disc in my back but I don't let it beat me. This will be great for changing the gearbox oil. I wouldn't have bought something like this from fleabay like has been said you don't know how long it would last.

I do have a manual pump with a steel housing intended for this kind of work.

Have not used it yet anyway.

Nice. I wish I got this when I had changed the gearbox on my old white 2.4 as my knuckles were scraped. This will handy for priming the diesel pump too after changing the fuel filter.
